We at fiddme are really excited about the iPhone 4. We just got ours (it started selling in Israel only today) and we started playing with it, we noticed that you can fool your iPhone to think it is connected to a wifi while it is really connected to the 3g and here is how:
1. Enable Internet Tethering on your iPhone (Settings -> General -> Internet Tethering). This might not be available in all countries.
2. Connect your mac/pc to the iPhone (I used USB but it can be done using a bluetooth).
3. Create a wifi network on your mac/pc. At that point you should see the blue bar on your iPhone.
4. Share your internet connection from USB to Airport (on mac). On a pc it’s almost the same.
5. Now here is the trick – Connect your iPhone to that new WiFi network you just created.
Voula… Have fun…
One of the problems with the current way we let people post new bites on the iPhone app is that some of the most important controls – rating and sharing – are hidden away in a More Options screen that many users are not aware of.
Since both rating and transparency regarding which services the bite is going to be posted to are very important to us (we don’t want users to reach a point where users are spamming their followers on other services without knowing) we’ve been working on a new design to make these two controls, and the entire process of uploading a new bite a lot simpler:
The idea is that the icons at the bottom will reflect the current state. So if you rate the dish as Awesome the icon and text at the bottom will change to reflect that choice. On the Sharing buttons, the services currently selected for sharing will be emphasized.
With this new design, all the information about the bite and where its going to be posted is available in a single screen.
Updated:
It seems that the new bite screen in its current form is an infringement of a Polaroid trademark. As we don’t want people to confuse Fiddme, the young foodie startup from Israel, with Polaroid, the multi-billion dollars corporation, we’ve changed the photo borders to reflect our unique brand

Starting today, Foursqaure is coming to fiddme ![]()
In addition to Facebook and Twitter, the new version of fiddme, available starting today, is integrated with Foursquare.
Now, you can check-in to foursquare as you share your fiddme bite with the world.
This is how it looks like:
To integrate your fiddme account with foursquare use the use the settings page on the fiddme website.
While you’re at it, you can also integrate with Twitter and Facebook…
We’re very excited to announce that a new major version of Fiddme is now publically available on the AppStore.
Signing up to fiddme no longer requires your Twitter credentials.
When you login to the application you’ll see the new login wizard that will allow you to connect your Twitter and\or Facebook account and import your friends:
You can later change these settings on the settings screen at the fiddme website and you can always import more friends using the People Finder screen:![]()
(note to existing users: we’re concerned about your privacy! in the next few days we’ll be converting your existing Twitter credentials in our database to OAuth tokens. We will no longer store your username and password information on our database)
Food is an emotional experience, and we’d like to let you express your emotions in ways beyond plain text captions.
That is why we’ve added a more options screen when adding a new bite that lets you tell the world how you feel.
You can also specify the services your new bite will be aggregated to on this screen:
We’ve simplified the process of adding a new place to fiddme.
When looking for a place we’ll also display results from external sources (like Google) below the fiddme results.
If the place you’re currently at isn’t on fiddme yet can be found elsewhere you can simply select the external listing and we’ll fill the relevant data in the Add New Place screen:
Today’s fiddme release makes it easier and more fun to use and resolves the privacy concerns we’ve had with previous release.
Its just a first step enabling a set of new ideas and features we’re planning in the future…

We’re constantly impressed by how fast apple started to approve apps in the appstore. For the first version of fiddme it took them less than 48 hours, for version 1.2 it took them less than 2 hours, 111 minutes to be exact.
One thing that we do like about that experience is that apple doesn’t announce they improved the process they just do it.
This version is mainly a stability push. We’ve been listening to feedback and tried to address the issues.
Here are some of the new features in this version:

Bug fixes:
Another update that we did yesturday came as a request from Dana Dumai:

We just love to hear you tell us what you need so 2 hours later she got what she wanted:
