One of the problems with the current way we let people post new bites on the iPhone app is that some of the most important controls – rating and sharing – are hidden away in a More Options screen that many users are not aware of.
Since both rating and transparency regarding which services the bite is going to be posted to are very important to us (we don’t want users to reach a point where users are spamming their followers on other services without knowing) we’ve been working on a new design to make these two controls, and the entire process of uploading a new bite a lot simpler:
The idea is that the icons at the bottom will reflect the current state. So if you rate the dish as Awesome the icon and text at the bottom will change to reflect that choice. On the Sharing buttons, the services currently selected for sharing will be emphasized.
With this new design, all the information about the bite and where its going to be posted is available in a single screen.
